We love their goal which “is to show black girls how beautiful they are by placing their awesomeness front and center on our shirts!” because there aren’t enough images of brown girls on mainstream apparel.

Kido is a shop full of colorful books, toys, clothes, and even footwear. They are family owned and located in Chicago, but also offer online shopping. I personally love their wooden toy sets!

HarperIman dolls are extremely popular and it is no surprise why. They are beautifully crafted handmade linen keepsake dolls. A mother-daughter duo found that dolls of color are underrepresented, and set out to do something about it. The dolls are different sizes, skin tones, and represent many different hair types.
