One small step we can take in the right direction is to shop from and support Black-owned businesses along with diversifying our children’s toy collections. If you are looking for an adorable infant and toddler clothing brand, you have to check out Coco’Pie Clothing. We love their goal which “is to show black girls how beautiful they are by placing their awesomeness front and center on our shirts!” because there aren’t enough images of brown girls on mainstream apparel.

Teething is no fun, but being able to bring your baby a little comfort makes things a little easier. This business is owned by a mama who wanted better for her little one. Pretty Please Teethers are natural, handmade, and perfectly modern.

This awesome Black-owned business is launching its first products within the next month! They will be selling BPA, PVC, and Phthalate free bowls, trays, spoons, and food trays for little ones.

Brave + Kind Bookshop

The Brave + Kind Bookshop offers a wide selection of unique books to fill your little one’s shelves with. They are located in Decatur, Georgia and we highly recommend stopping by if you are in the area! However, you can also support their business and shop online.

Paper Play + Wonder Shop

I think we can all agree that having toys around that encourage imagination is a great thing! The Paper Play + Wonder Shop specializes in illustrations and paper toys for kids.

Kido is a shop full of colorful books, toys, clothes, and even footwear. They are family owned and located in Chicago, but also offer online shopping. I personally love their wooden toy sets!

HarperIman Dolls


HarperIman dolls are extremely popular and it is no surprise why. They are beautifully crafted handmade linen keepsake dolls. A mother-daughter duo found that dolls of color are underrepresented, and set out to do something about it. The dolls are different sizes, skin tones, and represent many different hair types.
