Vacation Packing Tips and Hacks ”
Now more than ever we’re all looking for a getaway to escape this confusing time due to COVID-19. Life as we know it has been turned upside down, and we’re all just trying to do the best that we can in order to not live in a constant state of being overwhelmed. Many of us have been forced to vastly reduce the size of our worlds, and spend ungodly amounts of time in our homes. So, with that being said, there couldn’t be a better time to seek out a peaceful vacation destination. Even if it’s just a quick weekend getaway, experiencing a change of scenery can work wonders for your mental health. If you decide to take a vacation though, the last thing you want is to find yourself dealing with any sort of packing stress. So, let’s take a look at some packing tips and hacks for when you get ready for that next well-needed vacation.
Pack your clothes inside out.
This might seem like a wildly unexpected way to go about packing your clothes for the next vacation, but as it turns out packing your clothes inside out is an incredibly effective way to avoid wrinkles and stains. You wouldn’t want to travel all the way out to your dream destination only to realize you have terribly wrinkled tunics for leggings. Or, perhaps even worse, that your fancy dinner outfit for that one picturesque bistro on the water somehow got stained in transit. If you fold those clothing items inside out, you won’t have to worry about anyone seeing stains or wrinkles. Cool trick, right?
Separate your clothing items by weight.
As long as you make sure to separate your various clothing items by weight you’ll be able to get around with that big suitcase a lot easier. The key is to place your heaviest items near the wheels to ensure that your luggage rolls easier.
Pack a sunglasses case but not for your shades.
Like any traveler has likely encountered, phone chargers and other accessories have an uncanny knack for getting misplaced while on the road. You show up at your hotel, ready to relax and mentally recharge by the resort’s pool, only to realize that your phone charger is nowhere to be found and your earphones are missing. Maybe it’s a true worst-case scenario kind of situation, and you happen to be staying out in the middle of nowhere, with no kind of convenience store to be found. Avoid finding yourself in that terrible predicament by bringing along an extra sunglasses case, and designate that case for all the phone chargers and other accessories that you plan on bringing with you.
This tip may seem basic enough, but it’s absolutely crucial to ensure that you have the most peaceful packing process possible. Don’t save your packing for the night before you have to hit the road. If you pull that stunt, you’re going to end up frantically running around, and likely to forget essential items that you needed for your trip. So, give yourself a couple of weeks (at least) in advance, to compile a list of all the different items you think you’ll need to have the best, most peaceful, and regenerative vacation possible. That way when departure time actually arrives, you’ll be in the best possible position to pack smoothly and efficiently.
Pack a Poncho
Even if your vacation destination is some tropical paradise, you still might find yourself navigating unexpected weather conditions. Always plan for the possibility of colder temperatures, that way you won’t have to worry about being blindsided if it shows up.
